One Day For KIA Volunteers

April 8, 2017 @ 7:00 am - 7:00 pm

Volunteer for The One Day For KIA on 8 April to support our fallen comrades.  The One Day for KIA is a 24-hour vigil run on the Oval on campus to raise awareness for the sacrifices our fellow military members have made in combat.  Learn more at www.1dayforthekia.org.

Volunteers are needed in the following areas (with time slots):

  • 5 Food Volunteers: these people will help setup the food tent, cook food, and ensure that there are cups of Gatorade/water ready for participants. The time slots we could use people are from 0700-1200.
  • 24 Spotters: these individuals will be spotting the participants in the military WODs. There will be much more details to come for this position, but it will mainly consist of ensuring people don’t get hurt and that they are completing the exercises with proper form. We could use help anywhere from 0730 to 1900.
  • 10 Luminary Setup Volunteers: as I mentioned above, we will be setting up luminaries around the Oval for the Luminary 5K. The luminaries will be setup before 1800, so we will need about these individuals to start with the creation of these luminaries at 1630. Tasks include filling paper bags with sand and placing an electronic candle in each bag.
To volunteer, simply email afrotcsociety@osu.edu.  Please include the times which you are able to assist (ex – from 0900 to 1100).
